Multiple Shipping Addresses

Hello,

I am setting up a wedding gown cleaning site where customers pay to have their wedding gowns cleaned.
- they buy the service online
- we ship them the kit to place their gown into
- they ship it back to us.
- we clean the gown and ship it back to them.

the client is asking me to setup the ability to have a "pick-up address" where the initial kit would go to and after the wedding gown is cleaned, a different "Final Destination address" if the customer desires.

Is there any way during the checkout or during account setup process to include another step to include a "Final Destination Address"?

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated... thanks.
:D

Re: Multiple Shipping Addresses

I, too, am looking for some functionality that will enable a customer to ship multiple items to various addresses (I have a Card shop, and it would be doos for a customer to buy multiple cards in one order, but send to different addresses).

There is a module available for osC (Multiple_ordersv2.2), but i would not have a scoobie on how to port this over to zenCart.

If anyone is available to show me how to port this over, i think there is lots of people who are looking for this funcationality - searching the posts there seems to be a few threads started, but they all seem to be archived now. The we can add it to the mod pages and support the communoty

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated, by me and everyone else

So, how it should work?
Let us say user has bought 6 items and want to ship 3 to Address#1, 2 to Address #2 and 1 to Address#3
There would be n number of rows for Addresses( n= number of items)

Please clarify

Yes, I'm guessing it would result in each item in the order having it's own delivery address (i'm guessing it would be more useful for each customer to have a 'large' address book and they could attach an address to each line in the order.)

I've been looking at the functionality of the osC module - what it seems to do is 'collate' individual orders. By that I mean that the customer would place one order, select the address and go to 'checkout'. In Payments, there is an option that says "pay together with next order". The user then 'pays' using this option, effectively completing the order process. Then they go back and shop for another item, and goes back to the checkout. Select another delivery address and in Payments, selects the 'pay for all orders' option... the user is then presented with the cost of both orders that need paying.
This seems a rather long-winded solution to the problem of sending items to mutliple addresses.:shocking:

Does that make sense?
In answer to your original question, superprg, yes to your scenario example

Re: Multiple Shipping Addresses

THREAD CREATOR HERE>
i was thinking of something that may be a little easier.

i just need to add an extra shipping address step so the customer can specify where their final delivery address will be if it is different than their pick up address.

thanks

Re: Multiple Shipping Addresses

Any progress on this front? I have a business model that would need a ship-to for each item on the order.

Re: Multiple Shipping Addresses

I've not heard anything since posting my message above.

the way i've got around it at the moment is to add a text-field attribute to the product page in which my customer adds the address manually free-format style... not pretty but get's around the multiple shipping address issue

We might be in the same situation.. ..so if anything happens in this area, I'd be interested also.

Re: Multiple Shipping Addresses

Any progress on this?

I have a florist and we have the following scenarios:

1) All items in cart go to 1 recipient (delivery address)

2) Some items in cart go to 1 recip and Some go to another

3) Each item in cart goes to a different recipient

4) Items in cart are for pick-up (no delivery or shipping)

I may actually be willing to pay something for this type of capability.

Thanks,
W

Re: Multiple Shipping Addresses

Probably such a scenario is not feasible in zen cart yet ...
