Need quantity discount advice

I've been reading multiple threads regarding creating quantity discounts and am still totally confused about how it all works. The ZC admin has a Products Price Manager that allows creation of quantity discounts, and in the attributes controller, the editor allows creation of Price Factor, Offset and Attributes Quantity Price Discount. Hours of reading threads have given me no understanding of how all these work together. I'm hoping that someone can tell me what to do in order to create the quantity discounts that the client wants.

The discounts are these:
0-99: full price
100-199: 10% off
200+: 15% off

The catalogue contains products that have a single base price, products that are priced only by attributes, and products that have both a base price and priced attributes. The above discounts should naturally apply to base prices and attribute prices.

Hoping someone can write a step-by-step to help me get this set up! Thanks!

You find the Product ...

You click Edit ...

You Click the Add 5 Blank Qty Discounts: ...

You select from the Dropdowns: Precentage and Special

You enter:
QTY DISCOUNT
100 10

OK, that's what I thought, and that's what I had done. However, the shopping cart still displays 100 times the full price...I guess this is due to the dual pricing mod that I've installed in the system.

That almost works perfectly...except for the global quantities. Any way this could work with individual product quantities the way the built-in quantity discounts do?

Not quite sure what you mean ... can you give me a specific example of how you want it to work? If you set "Discount Basis" to "Total By Item" does this not do what you want?

In the products price manager, you can set quantity discounts individually for different products, e.g., product A has a discount of 10% for 100+ quantity, and product B has a discount of 10% for 50+ quantity. If I was to set that up for each product, would your mod use the different quantities when calculating discounts?

If you want that level of discount granularity, you need to use the
Products Price Manager. My mod is designed for a single discounting model.

If you have a manageable number of products that have different
discounting schemes, you might want to extend my mod and simply
hard code these custom rules.

If you want to extend the mod to differentiate between product lines,
wait just a couple of weeks for the next release; I've clearly commented
various points where you can inject custom code and given some advice
on doing this.

I am selling photographs, and they have a base price and are priced by attribute(size). One of my sizes is 'Notecard' I would like to offer a discount for every 4 notecards that are ordered. So if they order 3 notecards, no discount. If they order 10 notecards, 8 get the discount, and two are full price. How do I do this?

This sort of discounting model isn't built in but could be added. PM me if interested.
