No, only the only CSS files in my template directory are:

    stylesheet.css (the test one renamed)
    stylesheet_css_buttons.css
    print_stylesheet.css

as per the template_default directory - I've even just tried deleting the other css files to see if it made a difference but no result.

site in question that holds all this is:

    linux.glassmelt.co.uk/zencart (no www)

The strange thing is that I just noticed, the section of the header that holds the logo and the sales text (or what ever it's called) appears to be a static 100% width, irrespective of the page being viewed (which is right). The same is also possible for the login line below it, but i can't prove that because I can't find the right bit of the CSS to hit to change the background colour.

when i view source i see this :
    <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" id="contentMainWrapper">

I wonder if you aren't throwing it for a loop with that one- cuz it's width is set in the css and in the table tag ?

    Tina

I will give that a shot - now here's the daft bit.. I've not modified that file from the default, mainly because I don't actually know what file to look at. Presuming you mean tpl_main_page.php, I've just edited it to remove the width entry and still no effect.
I thought the whole point of the overrides was that there was no information like that in the actual source, just iin CSS configuration?

It's certainly not for lack of trying Your suggestions have been greatly apprieciated - it's currently 7.20 am after an all night stint - good company :)

Not resolved yet but I thought I'd keep posting findings incase it helps any one.

Given the order of my pgae flow is:

    1. Logo
    2. Logon/home
    3. Catagory tabs
    4. All the rest

I've found that sizing starts to go wrong from the catagory bar. all above seems to use 100%

    Bah!!

OK, found the issue. Using DOS FTP currently as away from my own machine... must have cd'd wrong somewhere and ended up copying the classic tpl_*.php files, instead of the template_default ones. Sorry for wasting your time Tina, but thank you for your excellent help.
