Default Easy Populate, without v_products_model field?

Hi I am trying to make EP work for my needs. My biggest problem atm is it won't work unless you put something in the v_products_model field. I am building a comic book e-store, and comic books do not have model numbers. I tried putting a simple generic value in there (all the same), but that does not work. It assumes you are updating ONE product.

Is there a way to disable v_products_model?

No. You can't skip the "model" field.

You can put something in the field, but it must be unique for each product.

Surely you have something that's unique for each book ... perhaps an ISBN? Maybe a title+issue? etc

You can turn it off from display on your site if you don't want people to see it. But you must have it in order to use easypopulate.

Thanks for the response, this is a possible solution I was considering. The only thing is, how do I turn off displaying model number in the product page? Thanks again.

Admin->Catalog->Product Types->Edit Layout->.... and change the setting there that talks about product model
