Default Banner Header Problem (purpleshades template)

    Hi guys

I've been working on customising the purpleshades 1.3 template and changing the colours to suit our company. After changing teh colours, I am happy with how the header is but I now want to put it some kind of banner on top of the header background image hdr_bg.

The original purpleshades template originally had 2 images up there, one called sitelogo.gif and the other one i'm not sure. What I did was rename sitelogo.gif so that it would not display. Now that I want to put in my own banner in, I planned on uploading my banner and naming it sitelogo.gif so that it would replace the hold one.

The problem is however, the entire header is now elongated beyond the normal page width (hard to explain, see pics below). A blue strip from the header bakground colour also appears which shouldn't be there.

Can anyone help me with this? I assume theres a proper way to manage banners ontop of header background images?

    Cheers

Note the first pic is the original layout I want, and what I wanted to do was add that extra bit on top of that.

The second pic is what happened when I tried to upload it as sitelogo.gif.

Have you managed to sort this yet.

Used purple shades myself, so I think it could be the css, if you've not fixed it yet I'll investigate further.

    tsaurus,

Purple Shades is a template that remains table based..as a result the table box for the logo is a certian size and one would have to adjust this table to accomodate what you have for a header. You can look at the dimensions of the old logo.gif and redesign your image to be that size. Do one these if you are intent on using this template. Alternatively, you could use one of the templates based on the 1.3.x template_default file set as your starting point...these are non-table based and IMO are far easier to customize.
