How can I set shipping based on product price?

And, I currently am not able to set shipping manually in the New Product page. I need to set shipping manually for certain items, in other words to override the shipping defaults.

Could you perhaps give some real world examples of what you really need the shipping to do so we can understand what you are talking about?
