I had this problam with a test cart i was setting up just now, and i figured out my problam,
i found the password wasnt right in one of my configure.php files
(includes/configure.php and inludes/admin/configure.php)
and now i'm working

I'm having the exact same problem. I have reinstalled a new database (after accidently deleting the original one) and have checked my settings in both the configure.php files and they are now both correct (yes, passwords and all). Can anyone suggest where I may go from here. I would hate to lose my website after months of hard work.

I am having the same problems. This is with a fresh store and everything was working great. Last thing I can remember doing in the admin was copying a product to create a new product and then I go to check my result and the store page was loading but it was taking a long time and then only the header would show. I clicked around the website and saw the homepage had no issues, it seemed to just be the category page I was editing at the time this happened. (This could all be just happen-stance though). I then closed my browser and reopened it and I get the "Problem connecting to database" page.
Now the odd thing is that my Admin works fine. I can do everything and fully use it, so it must be connecting to the DB.
I reuploaded my includes/configure.php file just to be sure and no luck. The settings are correct and I even tried using the IP for the db server instead of the name and that didn't work either.
Both the regular and admin configure files show the same db connection info but for some reason the store pages don't load and it shows the "problem connecting to our database" page.
Please help as this is URGENT I get this website up :-(
I've used Zen-Cart a lot and never had this happen before.
