Main page doesn't load after logging in (catalog side)

Hi there. I'm finishing up a clients' site, but I'm having a bit of trouble. When one logs into the site (or creates an account) from the log in link at the header, the main page does not finish loading. It only loads as far as the category header image. If you log in during check out, the check out seems to work fine and you can click Home to go to the main page with no problems. It seems to be only when you click Log In.

I'm stumped! Could it be a permissions issue? I ask because I had a permissions issue when I moved the site from a staging directory to the root. I think I'm a little over my head in this one! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Okay weird. Now it's working! At least for me on multiple browsers. Maybe it just took a while for some of the files to propagate when I moved to the root directory. Oh well. I'm just glad it's working!

*sigh* Okay, not it's not working. I just tried making a new account and it's doing the same not loading thing.

It's only the main page. I can click My Account and that comes up fine. I can then click all around the site. It's only the main page that's being a bugger. =(

Sorry to keep updating my own post. I SWEAR I'm not doing to bump my post. :embarrassed smiley:

I can't recreate the error in IE or Safari, only in Firefox. And only sometimes. With the first customer I made, I can now log in every time just fine. With the others (one I made in Firefox, one in IE and one in Safari), those will not load the main page after logging in. But only in Firefox.

The plot thickens! =)

Logged out ...

Logged back in ... stuff back in the cart ...

Did this in Fire Fox ...

Try closing all browser windows for FireFox and clear you cache and cookies ...

Thanks so much for checking it, Ajeh! You're right, I think it must have been a browser issue. After I cleared the cache and restarted, it was loading fine. What a relief!! =)

Thanks for the update ... sometimes it is just those cache and cookie gremlins out to haunt you and make things appear to be broken ...
