    Re: How do EZ-Pages work?

So I'm trying to use this to create a links page with different catagories.
Can someone explain how that works? Im reading the above post about how it should work but Im not getting it. I can add a simple page or an external/internal link but not via the TOC and chapters.
I want to make a LINKS page that opens a catagories page displaying the different link catagories. When I click on a catagorie, I want all links within that catagory to be displayed.

Can this even be done or am I misrepresenting what I think it should be able to do??

    Thanks

There's a table in your database called "ezpages". Unless you're using the multilanguage ezpages add-in, it all goes in there and gets backed up with whatever you do for your main database backup.

    CBO,

I think you have to add this mod EZPages Mod
to have the EZPages included in your site map.

To have EZPages under one link, you'll need to use the TOC...first one would
be your TOC page--Chapter 1, Sort Order 10. The title of this will be your
main link showing in tabs, sidebox, or where ever you want it.
    Each additional chapter/link would be Chapter 1, Sort Order 20;
Chapter 1, Sort Order 30; Chapter 1, Sort Order 40...etc.

    Hope this helps!

Not quite what I meant. You kow how the define pages can be found here: public_html/includes/languages/english/html_includes/your_template/define_main_page.php,

I want to know in which folder of your installation they go...

They don't go into a folder. They go into your database. They work differently from define pages.

Thanks--I'll give this a try. It just seems weird that EZPages does not show in site map...not critisizing the developers just wondering why it was not thoght of.

    Thanks

    Hi Kuroi,

What is the implication for ZC upgrades? Given that EZ pages are tucked away in the database, does that mean they would remain intact when upgrading to a higher version of ZC?

    Answer is yes.
The upgrade touches on some PHP files and provides an upgrade patch for your database, which does not affect EZ pages.
This is how it has worked so far, if EZ pages were to be affected, the ZC team would tell you what the work-around is.
