How to migrate settings from one template to another

Hi all,

I'm sorry to be asking what I'm sure is a stupid question...I am helping my partner establish a new Zen Cart store and he has already gone through and changed a lot of the classic template, though without realising it. As such I am not sure exactly what files have and have not been changed, and what settings have and have not been changed through the admin section.

As we need to utilise our own template so that settings are retained through upgrades of Zen Cart etc in the future, how can I copy everything which is currently in use; ie: retain all the changes my partner has made to a new custom template?

You need a good file comparison tool to begin. Compare your version to a clean download and then copy the changed files to their own override directories.

Thanks guys, I'm thinking it might be easier just to try and start our new template again...no matter which template we use Zen Cart will always retain the details of products, postage modules, payment methods etc won't it?
