I am located in the USA and my default language is English... is there a way to change the icon of the british flag to a US flag? I see the area where you can insert the url for the icon. Any information here would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Sure - download a US flag from our archived contributions section, and upload the image to:
/includes/languages/english/images/icon.gif
(There's no override for this... just replace the existing one).
