Google Analytics Integration

Hallo Andrew,

I have installed the mod but I have a problem.

Sometime it doesn't register the sales. I mean there are some days in wich I sold articles but in Google Analytics Ecommerce I have no sales.

Is it possible to have an idea about the reason ?

Andrew hasn't been seen in the forums for quote some time now.

His module has been known to have some native problems with tracking (and the one you mention is one of them.)

It is recommended that you uninstall his version and then install the original Google Analytics tracking module I created (which Andrew's was based off of) called Simple Google Analytics.

It comes with it's own support forum (forum url included in package) and is easy to install, has a lot of features not included in Andrew's version, and is accurate in all phases of tracking.

IT can take a couple of days before it starts logging sales. But to be honest. I have Eric's mod installed and it doesn't catch all of my sales either....

Yes, completely uninstall and then install mine.

Three things here:

1) Make sure you have the newest version of the module installed (I released a new version came out within the month.)

2) Because Google Analytics (not my mod) is JavaScript based, it is never going to be 100% accurate. Anyone who is blocking JS from running in their browser will not be tracked. Again, not a result of the module, but of the tracking from Google itself.

3) If you have my module installed and continually do not get accurate results, then make sure you are looking for the right information and have it enabled within your Google Analytics (not my mod) account. If you are looking for ecommerce transactions for example, then you need to make sure you have enabled your account to do this (from within your GA account ... not the mod.)

Likewise, if you are looking for Adwords Conversion Tracking information this is (as indicated by the mod) only activated when a user first clicks on an ad then buys.

If looking at Goals (different than all the above) make sure you have your goal setup correctly. If not, not all sales will track (again, in your Google Analytics, not this mod).

I did find a small bug in the ecommerce portion of the code that I corrected in the most recent version. This caused transactions with apostrophes in them to be miss recorded. That has been corrected. Other than that, the tracking should be spot on each time (again, with the exception of the JS issues mentioned above for tracking of this sort.)

I have used it on my own sites for years and have had very accurate results with it.
