Odd characters at the top left corner

Hi all,

For some reasons my site has a few odd symbols/characters at the top left corner. Does anyone know how to remove it? Have I stuffed up a file when making changes? Please help.

Yeah looks that way as this is the first thing when 'view source' is performed on your page.

In your admin > tools > developers tool kit > search for "  " and if lucky it only appears once...edit that file and this should be taken care of.

Excellent, Kobra. Thank you. I managed to find the file using developers tool kit. Looks like the extra space right at the beginning of the php code when saved as UTF8 caused the odd characters to show up.

If you are using UTF-8 encoding, make sure to save your file without the BOM mark, the Unicode Signature.

Another note but not sure for the Zen Cart v1.3.x, however in v1.2.x, if a file or some files is/are saved with BOM. And it will cause the template can not be centered, no matter how you set in the stylesheet or modify the codes.
