Same attributes... different category.

Hey all.

I have a car accessories store, and so I have arranged my store by make-model-year-type of product, to make it easy on the customer.

However, by doing this, I currently have around 400 dash-trim kits, all needing the same exact attributes, going into different categories.

The easiest (which isn't very easy) way of doing this is going "copy to product", scrolling through the whole product list, and doing it that way.

I'm hoping there is perhaps a module, or in general just a simplier way to do this?

Thank, I really appriecate you all, and this forum. I hope to be able to contribute soon. :)

Re: Same attributes... different category.

Did you try using the Copy Attributes to Category in the Attributes Controller?

This copies the Attributes from 1 Product to all the Products in a Category ...

Re: Same attributes... different category.

Yeah, that would work better... except, the categories like i said are make-model-year-type of product, and while I'm not saying you didn't catch that, the problem there is that in the type of product (dash trim kits) there are several different types.. general, designer fabric, aluminum, etc.

So for general I need them all to have the same attributes of color like carbon fiber, chrome, blue, red, etc... and the for designer fabric it has to be like, louis vuitton, gucci, etc... yeah, you get the idea.

At the moment ... unless you were to have some custom code written that would be the only method really available to you ...
