Hmmm ... product-stock-by-attribute isn't built-in to Zen Cart yet, but is in development for an upcoming release. There is a contribution kicking around that has done something with it, which you might want to try out.

    Thanks.

Where can i find it? Do you mean that somebody has already worked on it before and it will be eventually added to the new release?

Alternatively, why not just create each date's journey as a separate product with a stock quantity of 40?

You can simply duplicate one then edit the necessary sections.

The events we are trying to sell are daily ones almost through out the year.

We have a events & happenings website for the City and we would want people to see where they can go and what they can do while in the city and accordingly book for various rides, shows, etc. going on.

Creating an entry for each day would flood the products page with hundreds of entries for only the Bus Tour, leave about the other offerings.

12 categories (Jan-Dec), Sub-categories for each day, events for each day... may seem cumbersome, but an easy visual selection for your visitor...and because all events for a day are in one place, it's easier for your customers to locate and book multiple events for a day.

    Just a thought.

In fact, if you use the BetterCategories to utilse the flyout, then they get to any day with one click!

But this might make maintanence difficult. If i need to cut down the number of tickets for next 6 months from 40 to 30. I will have to go and edit all the entries one by one, considering the fact that this will be maintained by a operator who would take care of ticket sales and not a DB manager.
