What kind of system requirements would I need with?

appromently 250,000 expected part numbers? Obviously looking to move some product, what type of bandwidth would i need for a site with roughly that many part numbers?

I was looking at a dedicated solution from Cari.net, Intel Core Duo, 2gb Ram, 2x 250gb SATA hdd in RAID 1 Config. Fedora Core 6 with Plesk.

Is this over kill or about right?

The number of items will only matter to your hard drive, since few people will go through every single product.

They will use the search feature and look at the results, or simply click on a category and go through the products that way. But I don't see anyone staying long enough to look at every item.

When you go to Amazon or eBay do you look at every product on the site?

Your product images shouldn't be over 40k.

40 X 250,000 = roughly 10gb so your hard drive is plenty big enough, even considering all the images that come with Zen Cart, plus any mods you decide to load.

Seriously look into hosting your site with one of our Certified Hosting sites ...

You need a hosting site that knows how to manage php, MySQL and has a firm understanding of e-commerce sites ...

NOTE: 1k-10k is better on those little images ...
