I know of a designer working on exactly this at the moment and have emailed him to draw his attention to this thread. Exactly how it looks however (e.g. coming to the front when active), would depend to a great extent on how you chose to style it with CSS.

Another Joomla member pointed me a os commers contrib that does the exact same thing. I am attempting to contact him to setup payment to port it over. Once its completed I will donate it as a contribution. Thanks.

I submitted a contribution to the Zencart downloads section a few days ago which will do exactly what you want with the categories tabs. I do not think it is available for download yet but I am sure if you ask Dr B nicely he will chase it up for you.

The contribution will need adjusting within the CSS stylesheet to make the tabs look as you want them to and I can think of nobody better with CSS styling than Kuroi. Please keep me posted if you make any changes to it so I can update the formal contribution and extend its functionality.

I have installed your contribution for tabs on a brand new install of 1.3.5
In firefox my centre column is now off to the right - out side of the header and centre shop area.
In explorer my centre column is in the right place but I do not get the roll over happening on the tabs.

Any light on the matter welcome.

This mod was designed and tested on 1.3.2 so it is probably an incompatibility with something in 1.3.5.
