Do I need SSL

Sorry for posting a silly question but I cant find the answer so I thought I would post the question and ask.

I am in almost ready to install and upload my proposed zencart store to my hosting server but would like some advise first please.

Do i need to have ssl installed/enabled on the store? I am only using cheque/money order and paypal as my payment methods at the moment.

Any beginners advise or pointers will be received with open arms.

in your case SSL is not needed but since you are collecting personal information its is recomended, ( customers like to see the little gold lock )
this can be acomplished with a dedicated certificate or a shared certificate supplied by your host

If you're going to use SSL, get your own certificate, it's $20 a year from Godaddy, and a few places $15/yr. Share Cert just doesn't look good. Most host have ip for $1/mo so you're looking at around $32 total.

SSL from Godaddy can use with another host service?i have a host packet in Bluehost and they sell SSL with 40$/years
