shipping module has a prefixed

for example if i list a products weight as

0.1
when i use the ups module it will list the item as weighing 3.1lbs

if i list it at 1.1 it will display as 4.1

whats going on?

Look in the Configuration ... Shipping/Packaging ...

There is the Tare weight added in for packaging such as bubble wrap and box weight ...

Adjust this accordingly ...

ya that fixed it. although you cant apply less than 1 pound even if u do something like 0:001 it still displays as 1 pound

Could you look in your database via phpMyAdmin and look at the products table and see what the settings are for the field: products_weight and what the type is set to?
