Blue strip, what went wrong with my site?

I switched to blue strip and everything went wacky
I tried resetting the boxes and it does nothing

Please help me. I have no clue where to begin

I switched it back to classic. now

But every thing squeezed into a thin column

I had everything fine until the patch was applied, and when the patch went in it reset everything. So I read that the rest was because I had the default template. So I switched to the blue strip and the whole site went crazy.

I wish this forum was not so advanced in it discusion so people like me had a chance to understand a to z how to do things. Im actually scared to ask a question because I feel 3 years old when I get an answer. I just don't know anything about what im doing here.

blue strip isnt part of 1.3 it blows up like a live grenade,

You need to get a template that is designed for 1.3

So if I install a 1.3 template, and an upgrade hits me, would I be safe, or are there still files that will be reset?

Re-read the authors comments in the download section on this template.

It is not a template that is targeted at the future and is what is called 'table based'. This is what Zen Cart was using in the pre 1.3.x releases. Beginning with 1.3.x Zen Cart is almost tableless and uses mostly css for styling.

There are several free templates that are based on the template default set of files and one of these will get you started in the correct direction.

As far as files that might get overwritten...the third forum in this section is about the override system and if you adhere to this for only those files that you edit, you will lose none of your customizations and have only a hand full of files that must be checked for changes.
