Additional product images don't show up?

Hi gang,

I've read this post:

...and meticulously followed it, as far as I can tell. But only one image still shows up on my product pages, not the additonal two images which I put in the "medium" and "large" folders within the "images" folder. They start with the same filename as the basic image. (this name is listed under "products image" on my product info page in the Admin).

The additional images are actually photos of product options (colour, material) and my intention is to have them on several different pages to illustrate the options.

I've checked everything over several times and can't see what the problem is.

Is there anything else I need to do to get the additional images to show up, or should it just happen "auto-magically"? I thought it was the latter... I'm baffled... and have probably overlooked something obvious!

Did you ftp the additional images into your shopping cart? Zencart doesn't automatically do that.

Oh yes, in fact that's all I did!

I earlier added the first (currently the only) product image by going to the product page (in Admin of course) and under Products Image choosing the appropriate file (and the appropriate location from the popup). But I was under the impression that FTP'ing correctly named files to the images directory and subdirectories would add them automatically to the product pages...

I originally put JPEGs there and thought the differing file types might be a problem... other images are still in that format... but at any rate, nothing shows up.

Actually I believe you don't even need the medium sized images for the extra images. Because the small sizes showup automatically, and then the larger size will be used when you "click to enlarge"

The problem is ... you are misunderstanding what images work where ...

small images - all over the site

medium images - 1 for product _info page

large images - 1 for product _info when clicking on medium image on product _info page

additional small images - as many as you want on product _info

additional large images - as many as you want to match additional small images on product _info

NOTE: 1 medium image ... not multiple medium images

I see upon looking at the original article that it does indeed say exactly what you said about file paths... not surprising since you wrote it!

I just misinterpreted / misread it. Sigh...
