ZenCart not jiving with my XP/Apache223/PHP516

    Hi all!

I'm trying to get ZenCart to work on my development machine but before I get into the nitty-gritty, I must mention my software environtment:

OS - Windows XP (Home, SP2)*
    HTTPd - Apache 2.2.3 with httpd.exe.manifest from ApacheLounge.com**
    PHP - v5.1.6 with the php5apache2.dll distribution from ApacheLounge.com***

    *I'm blushing as I write...
**Presently the only way to get Apache 2.2.3 to load the **PHP 5.1.6 module correctly.

The initial setup system inspection reports the following errors and warnings:

ERROR# MySQL Support = OFF Click here for more info
WARN# MySQL Version = Unknown Click here for more info
WARN# PHP GD Support = OFF Click here for more info
WARN# GD Version = GD Click here for more info
WARN# PHP cURL Support = OFF Click here for more info

Is ZendCart simply not supposed to work on the XP platform?

I'm gonna run a test to see if I can access MySQL independently via an Apache served PHP script (maybe it's a problem between PHP and Apache)

I'll post back - but if in the mean time you think you know what's going on here, please let me know!

Can't wait to play with ZenCart - Thanks!

ps - please let me know if I've failed to mention some important piece of information in this post!

Hi - I don't know much about the way you have this test machine set up, but I can tell you that I use WAMP to run a local server on 3 machines here in my office and all 3 are running XP fully updated and Zen runs on all 3 just fine so it isn't an XP issue.

Hope you find the exact answer.

    Thanks Tina,

I should mention that I'm running PHP as a module on Apache (implied in my first post, but it may not be clear.)

My implementation of MySQL: Ver 14.12 Distrib 5.0.24, for Win32 (ia32)

I doubted it was an OS issue, but I didn't want to leave any details out. Thanks for confirming this! May I ask, what version of Apache are you running? And what version of PHP have you implemented?

    Thanks again!

    PHP Version: 5.1.4 (Zend: 2.1.0)
    HTTP Server: Apache/2.0.58 (Win32) PHP/5.1.4

This is the result of my phpinfo inquiry in the admin.

    Thanks again Tina,

Well, I wrote a script and tested it on a live server (identical version setup, but implemented a la LAMP) and it worked. I then tested the script on my machine and all I got was a blank stare from my browser. Nothing.

So there is a fundamental problem with my PHP and/or Apache configuration. I'm going to check my Apache conf and PHP ini files one more time - line by line - and enable PHP warnings and logs.

I feel an 'all-nighter' coming up.

Well at least I will be in good company

I am fighting with a template that absolutely refuses to cooperate (for me that's quite a statement!) and I feel one of those coming too
