Turn off Shipping info/address...?

I have a cart running purely on the 'store pickup/walk in' payment method, and obviously I have no need for delivery info and shipping address.

I am currently fiddling around with editing checkout_shipping.php and checkout_confirmation.php (renaming addresses to "Account Address") to try and make things make sense to my customers. Customers will have an account address which makes sense... but will have no delivery address. At the moment I am having to display the account address twice on the way through checkout.. and it's all getting a wee bit confusing.

Does anybody have an idea/checklist of things I need to do that would make life easy and minimise customers need to see their account address displayed and available for editing as both a payment address AND delivery address when in fact all it is, is an account address!?

Even I'm getting confused now!

Auugh! Is there a way to just turn off all indications of a 'shipping address'...?? that would minimise my anguish. I think.

Wouldn't setting your products as free shipping / no shipping address required do this ?

also look at the information in configuration/Customer Details that will allow you to edit the fields presented on the account page to a ceratin degree.

Hi Tina.

Must admit I hadn't set the products to Free Shipping! Doh! But now that I have I have a Free Shipping icon appear which isn't relevant ... I dont really want to state the obvious.. after all there is no shipping, not free shipping.

Hmm.. i suppose I could replace the image with a blank.gif if need be???? But that still lists the irrelevant 'Free Shipping Options' in the also irrelevant 'Shipping Method' on the ever so irrelevant 'Delivery Information' page!

Customer details page is one I havent seen before and is handy to note.. but again it doesn't appear to help with my current confusion.

I'm just about finished for the day .. which is just as well as I am about to lose the will to live! ..lol..

I will be back tomorrow if you or anybody else can think of anything and/or advise beforehand.

There is a setting in the admin for not showing the icon - or you can turn it off in the css...

I am about to leave and haven't looked in an admin to tell you exactly where - but it's there ;)
