Drop down menu for similar items?

Hello, I was wondering if anyone knew how to add a drop down in the product list when you have very similar items at the same price and they differ only slightly. For example. i have an item that are of the same style and sell for the same price. I would like it if instead of entering all the items individually I could have a drop down list for one field that defines multiple values. look below...

Baseball bat \/ 36 in. qty. Price


The down arrow could be clicked for 33 in., 34 in., etc. instead of having multiple listings for the same/similar item. Thanks for your help.

Perhaps by making dropdown attributes?

Set the option name and all the values for each product, then make the product 'priced by attributes', the customer the select the variety from dropdown list, one product is set as default.
