How to upgate customer details?

Hi,

I am going to upgrate from 1.3.02 to 1.3.5, and I want to take this opportunity to change something on my current site, so it may take few days to complet, while I am working on new site in new folder, customers will keep shopping on mysite and new customers will register, how can upgrate these new customers or old customers with new orders only?

Appreciate anyone help on this.

When you have the new store sorted out, place you current store down for maintenance.
Take a DB backup of old store. Drop the DB on the new store, restore from backup just taken.
Re-run on the new store the zc_install and ONLY the DB Upgrade, your new store is now current.

Make your changes and new store is live.
