I am having a problem with my store with taxes not being applied occassionally. My store is in California, US. I have:
Tax Classes
Taxable Goods
Zone Definitions - Taxes, Payment and Shipping
Zone Name = California
Tax Rates
Tax Class = Taxable Goods
Zone = California
Tax Rate = 7.7500
Basis of Product Tax = Billing
Occasionally a California order will come through without charging tax. I looked at the orders and found that the tax is not being charged when the billing state is abbreviated on the order (instead of being spelled out completely (CA vs California).
Below is an example of a California order where no tax was charged:
Sub-Total: $16.96
Standard Shipping Rate (7-10 Days): $4.00
Total: $20.96
Customer:
Cxxxxxxx Wxxx
1885 The Alameda Suite 131
San Jose, California 95126
United States
Shipping Address:
Cxxxxxxx Wxxx
1885 The Alameda Suite 131
San Jose, California 95126
United States
Billing Address:
Cxxxxxxx Wxxx
918 South 9th Street
San Jose, CA 95112
United States
Below is an example of an order where tax was charged:
Sub-Total: $15.00
Standard Shipping Rate (7-10 Days): $4.00
CA TAX 7.75%: $1.16
Total: $20.16
Customer:
Xxxx Xxxx
370 S. Silverbrook Dr.
Anaheim Hills, California 92807
United States
Shipping Address:
Xxxx Xxxx
255 Portofino Way, #22
Redondo Beach, CA 90277
United States
Billing Address:

I noticed that orders that are saved with the State Abbreviated do not get tax applied to them. How are the state abbreviations controlled? Can I remedy this?
Thanks for your support,
