The weight is not displayed on the products on products details, BUT when a page came up showing latest new products the weight appears. Where is the setting to remove this???
Also can you control the amount of new products displayed?

Did you try turning off the weight in Admin-Config-All Listings?
For your second inquiry, you can adjust the amounts in Admin-Config-Maximum Values

New Listing
Featured Listing
All Listing
In addition to the settings for the Product Types ...
