in the add products part of the admin area, one of the options is for me to upload a picture of the product i want to list.
however, i wanted to link my product pictures from another site so I don't want to upload any pictures.
can anyone help me and let me know how I can do this?

As far as I know, you can't. Unless, you are able to link through the product description editor area, but I'm certain it would make a mess of your product description layout anyways.
