ok if been able to edit the signup page but i have a new problem
now that its been edited it wont approve the new applications becuase it doesnt have the information that i edited out
it says they cant sign up because they havent filled out this form ect ect
Did you turn them off in Admin->Configuration->Customer Details
and set the minimums to 0 in Admin->Configuration->Minimum Values?
After that, as a coding example. you could follow the example in this thread to see the concept of how inputs and validations work, etc.

i am facing the exact same obstacle - i sell custom pokerstars table themes. My clients really only need to provide me with a username and email address for my purposes. the Admin - Config - Min Values allowed me to get rid of a few fields but still i requesting first and last name - address - etc.
I really just want username, e-mail, and password to show up and be required. Any more than that will scare off potential customers.
I think azza is looking to do the same thing - get rid of the other fields completely.

Having seen your themes site I can see why your customers would be hesitant to give their addresses and other info. No way you license all those images you have copped off of the web. You sell stuff that contains images that are the properties of others. Shame on you.
