Zen Lightbox addon [Support Thread]

He was trying to get the lightbox effect to work on images in his ez pages.

Forgot to say: Because this function, per the readme, should work out of the box, niestudio was researching the issue. He discovered some missing code from V1.6x and is in the process of getting that taken care of.

Bigdiogi's fix is a work around for the meantime.

Thanks for the clarification! It was hard to follow what was going on.. and the link referenced was clearly from IH2's bmz_cache folder..

I think where the confusion is coming in for many is that bigdiogi wanted the lightbox feature on his ez pages, which you can do with ZLB.

BUT, he wanted this effect on hover, because he thought that was how ZLB worked...

I think he didn't realize that IH2 affects images on hover, whereas ZLB affects images on click....yet both don't necessarily affect the same images....ez pages images being a prime example.

Even with all the wonderful documentation out there, a novice might become easily confused about clicks and hovers and "who does what to whom", so to speak.

And I totally agree that as cool as the on hover is with IH2 (I so love that feataure!), it's greatest value lies with image management (fewer images to upload, no hassling with image file suffixes, faster loading times, less cost re: bandwidth usage, etc)

Both of these mods are awesome, and especially so once one figures out how they are different yet complimentary... because from there, one can easily get to a place where they are using both to their fullest advantage

Exactly! I simply wanted to make sure it was clear for anyone following this thread that neither of these mods wasn't necessarily broken (broken = not working as they are intended to work). Because initially when I was following this recent line of conversation that was what I was thinking was being communicated.. (Based on posted responses, I don't think I was alone in this thinking)

Because I am working on compiling a new version of IH2 (with better documentation to cover Fual Lightbox and Zen Lightbox integration) I simply wanted to make sure that if there was an issue with IH2/ZLB integration that they are addressed in the new release. I have been testing the new release with the current version of ZLB, and I am happy to report that they both play together nicely, and there will be instructions included in the readme for those using both IH2 and ZLB together how to make sure the integration steps are clear. I will be coordinating with niestudio so he can include the same info in the ZLB readme as well.

Additionally based on this recent line of conversation I will be updating the section of the IH2 instructions - specifically the section of the IH2 readme which covers how small images settings must be setup in order for the image hover to work correctly - to include very explicit information on the image hover feature so it's clear which images it actually affects.

HA! That's YEARS of trial and error and reading everything I can get my hands on my dear.. you are quickly becoming an expert in your own right on the Zen Cart forum!!!!!

Yep! At first I thought he was talking about the on click feature of ZLB on EZ Pages. It took a few posts beyond the initial issue for me to figure out exactly what he was wanting to do.

Don't worry bigdiogi, that's to be expected when you're new to ZC, aren't familiar with all the mods and the terminology, etc. Sometime you should hunt up my posts re: the override system when I was new and trying to learn it. LOL I was chasing myself in circles over a concept that now seems so second nature to me.

I installed Zen Lightbox, and after some time installed Image Handler, all seems to work fine except one thing:
while the main image larger view opens zen-lightbox, the additional images open the large images into the browser window.

which add-on did you install first?
the file [includes/modules/your-template/additional_images.php] from the zen-lightbox add-on should be the one you are using. It should overwrite the one from IH2 if you are using that one.

That was it, thank you; having installed IH later I was using IH's file.
