Zen Lightbox addon [Support Thread]

Not sure if this question has been posted else where. I'm a total newbie here.
I have a copy of Zen Cart installed on my local server and am trying out Lightbox. I've installed Lightbox admin and it shows up fine, but I can't get the actual Lightbox to work. When I click on a product image, a pop-up window appears with the the _LRG image.

I have a feeling I'm not installing the files correctly. What I'm doing is copying the files from each folder within the Lightbox folder to it's corresponding folder within my hard drive.

On the installation page is says to rename the following folders to match your template folder name

includes\modules\YOUR-TEMPLATE-FOLDER
includes\templates\YOUR-TEMPLATE-FOLDER

I did that but not sure where to go from there. Can someone walk me through the details of where to put the files to get this thing rolling. I've got Zen Cart 1.3.8 and Image Handler 2 installed, and Lightbox 1.4. Mac platform 10.4.11
I also have the e-start your web store with Zen Cart book.

ironcross You need to upload the include folder to your server. If you are using a custom template, you need to change the includes\templates\YOUR-TEMPLATE-FOLDER to whatever name you are using for your over-ride folder, also the includes\modules\YOUR-TEMPLATE-FOLDER needs to be change the same way before you up load it. That should be it.

dbltoe I fix the problem in the data base. I deleted everything that deal with zen light and installed it again. It shows up in configurations now. I see what you are saying about the Image showing the next button. The problem is there is and extra picture at the bottom of the page for some reason. That is why it is showing the next button. I'm not sure how to fix that.

Just tried to install this module, bt it doesn't seem to be working. Pretty sure I have done everything as I should.

I get the following error message when I go into a product...

Fatal error: Call to undefined function zen_lightbox() in ...includes/templates/CUSTOM/templates/tpl_modules_main_product_image.php

Any ideas? I have turned it off for now.

Hi Countrycharm. Thanks for replying. When you say to upload it to my server, I just need to know which directory. If I upload it to my root directory, nothing happens. If I try to upload it to my website home directory, I'm asked to replace the includes folder already in there.

I'm really not that computer illiterate, honestly.

Yes you need to let it replace the includes folder. There's only one file to over writes and that is the tpl_modules_main_product_image in your includes\templates\your_custom_folder.

You appear to be using a "store-bought" template. Most of those will work UNTIL you try to add a mod. They don't bother to tell you that they messed with the underlying code so much that virtually any mod is impossible.

Hi ironcross hope you are well today. I fix my problem in the data base. I still don't know whats causing that extra image. I just deleted the nextlabel image and the prevlabel image in zen lightbox images so they want see the next button anymore. Anyway I thought I would mention it to you.

Countrycharm, I'm not sure if your last reply was directed towards me, but I'm fine none-the-less. Hope your doing well also.

I let the lightbox includes folder override the includes in my localhost htdocs folder and it over-rode everything. Now I have to reinstall Zen_Cart. That's what I'm afraid of on my live server. I can back it up and go for it, but it makes me a little nervous. As far as whats on my localhost, no big deal. It's not an exact ############## of what's on my live server. Simply for testing purposes. I can start from scratch.

Dbltoe, I am using a store bought template and changing it to my tastes. If what you say is true, that would be truely a bummer as I am only using Image Handler and Lightbox so far and there are may mods I'd like to use.

ironcross that last commit was aimed at dbltoe sorry about that, but I do hope you are well too. Anyway If dbltoe is right about your Template then I don't know what to tell you to do. I know these templates on zen cart the only thing that zen lightbox over-rides is tpl_modules_main_product_image. So if over-riding the includes file messes you up I don't know what to tell you.
