To answer your questions:
were there any errors when you did the sql installation? No, there were no error messages, and Zen Lightbox is showing in Configuration > Lightbox

did you do the installation of sql through the admin section or through the mysqladmin? I installed the sql through Tools > Install SQL Patched (and copied the file and pasted it into the space provided as per the install instructions)

did you have any other version of this previously installed? Nope, no other version of Lightbox installed. Although I am using a template: http://www.templatehelp.com/preset/p...rXQ9FXy42H4d7S

in admin -- have you set the settings? I have set the Lightbox settings in the Config > Lightbox as per below

you are using version 1.3.8a of zencart, right? Yes, I am using 1.3.8a version

I think it might be the naming of the installed files - I named them theme277 as that was the 'your template folder'. Hrmm.
