I have been playing with the Shipping/Packaging settings to see how they effect the final cost of the shipping estimation for the Canada Post Shipping Module - It doesn't seem to effect it at all. Are these parameters not used in this module.
I took a look at the code (canadapost.php) and the variable $shipping_weight seems to be not used any where.

Correct -- it appears that the tare settings are not used by the module.
