I'm new here, I'm an idiot, I need help

Good, now that I have that out of the way I have a few questions.

I am brand new to zen cart, but actually, while playing around with various controls and settings it seems to be somewhat intuitive.

However, there are a few things I cannot figure out.

On the main page, immediately under the top banner, it lists product categories in a sort of light grey headline type. Other than the side banner, product categories are listed again in the center column with accompanying category images.

What I would like to do is to have the category images be on top with the grey category listings and eliminate the other category listing in the middle column/ bottom. (and also keep the normal side banner category menu).

Is it possible to configure it like this?

Welcome to Zen Cart! Sounds like you are figuring most things out okay. I will give you a couple of hints to help you on your way. First, the menu that is horizontal under the header is called Cat Tabs (category tab menu). I can be turned on and off in the admin in Layout settings, styling- use the stylesheet.

The sideboxes are also controlled inthe Admin> Tools> Layout Boxes Controller.

Suggest you play with some of the other gazzilion switches to see what they do too.
