New Products and Updating Advanced Search

Greetings all:

I was wondering now that many of us have made our own Products, has anyone been able to update the search to include the new Product types.

For example i have a value called "Category" , in this category we have listing like , , etc...

Is there a way to update the Search so when i type in it will search for the "keyword" in the value "Category" ?
