    Dimwit at web building

    Hello One and All
Hopefully this question will delight and amuse.......
I started building my retail website (host Powweb) with NVU and added Gallery for the photos.........my OS is Linspire and I use gFTP to upload
Do I have to REDO everything already done INTO the Zencart or can I do something less time consuming?
I'm talking about 2 - 3 thousand items and separate descriptions...............

Is the feature E-Z pages able to help me out?

Do you have your products and the descriptions in a tab-delimited format? If so you could probably use EZ Populate to upload the products to the database.

Have no idea what "tab-delimited format" means...........

It almost looks like the zencart becomes a new website..........or am I wrong?

You should think about switching to zen cart it is the way to go. Your product management will be much easier. With NVU you really just creating static html pages and your probably using paypals cart for the order processing. Zen cart will give you greater control over the store without having to go in and hack away at the pages. Say you want to have a 25% off sale for a particular category, well now with NVU you would have to change pricing on each item, with zen cart set up sale, pick category and away you go. two minutes.

Also as I recall, if you decide to go with ZC, I would search the forums here with the search term "powweb", because there are some problems with zen cart on powweb, and those problems are not with zen cart they are with Powweb.

    Thanks all.......
I dont have any shopping carts as yet, ZC is my first attempt.
I have heard some rumblings about powweb troubles, but ZC does better I think than the others available - least from what I've been reading on the forum there....
If ZC sort of becomes a stand alone site, I can replace what I've built with NVU, (three whole pages) I would drop the gallery as well if I have to upload all products to ZC
