    Default Authorizenet Questions

    Greetings,

I am setting up authorizenet for a customer. Ihave put in the information for the gateway, but when both are in test mode .. it always fails.

Are there specific settings that need to be setup on the gateway side, for
the Zen module to work properly with it?

Are you using the AIM module?
Does your server have cURL installed and available?

Are you perhaps using GoDaddy and thus have a need for special configuration steps?

No to the AIM Module, Do not know about cURL but will find out.

Not using Godaddy (Other than to register domains)

Will contact host to inquire about cURL.

Site is http://visionviewpoint.com and authorizenet and site are in test if you wish to look.

Are you opposed to using AIM for any reason? It's a little more up-to-date than the SIM module...

    That's odd.

You didn't accidentally associate a zone with it did you? (Edit the module and ensure that the Zone is set to --none-- )

Yes ... all modules which collect credit card details require SSL.

Is there a guide on making THAT 1 work?
-obtain an API login ID from authorize.net
-obtain a transaction key from authorize.net
    - edit the authorize.net module in Zen Cart, and enter the API login ID and transaction key
    - don't touch any other settings
    - save
    - do a test transaction using 4111111111111111 as a credit card number, with any future expiry date and any 3-digit CVV code. You should get a "failed" response.
    - check authorize.net ... look at your batch transactions. Ensure that you see this failed attempt. Actually, you won't see it if your account is in Test mode. You'll have to call authorize.net tech support in order to see whether the transaction got to them or not.
I usually do this test in Production mode, so this last point is not a problem ... i see the transaction and then know things are ready for next step:
    - set site up with SSL support, and do the same test, but using a real credit card. Once you see the transaction approved, go into your batch transactions on authorize.net and void it (so you're not charged).
    Done.
