    Default disabling shipping

    Hi,

My store sells items that are sold all over the world and the shipping varies way too much for the cart to cope, therefore I add it on via the clients CC by phone call etc.

How do I disable shipping altogether because I still can't get it to go to step 2.

I have managed to disable shipping from sub total etc.

I don't want the customer to think they get free shipping but I just want the shipping thing disable altogether in a way that the payment process will work.

    Any ideas?

    Regards
    Outlaw

    1. Set all your product weights to 0.
    2. Turn on the Free Shipper module.
    3. Admin->Config->Shipping/Packaging->"Order Free Shipping 0 Weight Status" set to 1
    4. edit the language file for your freeshipper.php shipping module to say "Shipping Calculated Separately"

And set your payment module to "authorize" instead of "capture" so that CC transactions are left "open" for you to settle later.

If an entire order is free shipping and no shipping address is required, then the shipping page will be skipped entirely.

Since you require a shipping address, they will still have to choose the "To be settled later" option and click Continue to get to the payments page.

On the payment/confirmation pages, you can have the shipping details NOT show (and be completely excluded from ALL transactions) by disabling the ot_shipping order-total module. Admin->Modules->Order Total. Haven't tested that for ill side-effects...
