Please help with category tabs images

Is there any way to display the category images with the category tabs at the top? I foiund this thread here, but I am not a programmer and cannot code it. Perhaps there is an easier way or a setting in zen cart?

Also, on the main page it lists the category tabs at the top under the banner. The categories are ALSO listed in the center column near the bottom, but here are shown with the category images. If it is not possible to easily display category images with the cat tabs, after I turn off the category tabs, is there a config setting where I can move the category listings with images (presently showing in the middle column) to the top of the page, replacing the cat tabs?

Yes, what you want is possible but not by using settings in the admin.

One would have to hack the files to move the code for the center column display to the file that contains the code for the categories under the header.

Not un accomplishable but not also exactly easy for a php code challenged one like myself.
