    Default MySQL 4 vs 5...

I'm just about to reinstall one of my dev machines and was wondering if it's worth installing MySQL 5 instead of 4.

I originally setup my Zen Cart site while running MySQL 4 and everything works fine.

So my question is, which version of MySQL should I run?

MySQL 5 is a bit faster than 4, however as of 1.3.5 still wasn't yet fully supported by Zen Cart. That said, my test server runs MySQL 5 (with 50+ environments at present, including 8 now running 1.3.6) and I have deployed live sites running with MySQL 5 and have never experienced any problems as a result.

    Excellent!

Thanks for the info. I'll probably go with 5 and see what happens. After all, it's not a live site and if the worst happens I can just reinstall 4.
