New Products show ALL products - Workaround Not Working

Workaround for New Products show ALL products regardless of settings

Have edited /includes/functions/functions_lookups.php as instructed but result is that New Products are removed entirely from centre module, sidebox and Categories box in both upgraded and fresh installations.

INSTALLATIONS:
Fresh 1.3.0.2 Upgraded to 1.3.5 (09042006)
Fresh 1.3.5 (09042006)

Apply patch to virgin 1.3.5 install.
Set New Product Listing - Limited to ...
0 - New Products boxes and Categories link vanish
7 - ditto
14 - ditto
30 - ditto
60 - ditto
90 - ditto
120 - ditto

I have a re-write for the New Products test so that the what of is a new product now produces a blazingly fast query vs the old methods ...

Tests on a 700,000 product database use to take forever ... as in 30-60+ seconds and now take 0.2 seconds to 2.0 seconds for this query depending on the server ...

Somewhere in the processes of writting this I must have gotten interrupted and never got it cased out for the 2 oddities of All and Current month ...
