I copied a new version of my banner header to tamplates/classic/header_bg and then refreshed and got what is coming up now. I have no idea how changing that file could possible have done that. Can some one please help quick - and reassure me my site hasn't been hacked.

Ok, ignore that. Maybe it was the local internet or the server having issues. Now it seems to be working ok.
