Missing left column items. Help please.

I am having the hardest time. My site died as the host upgraded from MySQL 4 to 5. I was using 1.26 and the upgrade to 1.35 fixed this but I am spending weeks doing the upgrade. I am having to reenter all the products manually including attributes, the layout is now done mostly by CSS etc.

Anyway, some boxes in the left column have dissappeared. My categories are gone as well as the pages "Contact Us", etc.

I went ahead and turned on the categories under the header which will work short term but won't be ideal when I have lots of categories.

I looked in Tools/Layout Boxes Controller, but there is nothing there for displaying categories or Information pages. (there is a way to turn on "More Information" but that is not what I need.

I also looked in configuration/layout settings and all category items are turned on...

Can someone please help. I have no idea what is going on.

My main question here is how can I get my Categories and Information pages to show in the left column?

In the layout boxes controller there is a listing for "sideboxes/categories.php" this should be the one that need to left or right and on for the categories box to display.

You should have been able to use the 1.2.6 DB information for the products??

Here are my sideboxes. I don't have "categories" That is probably the problem right there. Where in the heck did categories go? This was a clean new install and not an upgrade.
Unfortunately, I'm don't know MySQL enough to get the proper product info I need. My host upgraded from MySQL 4 to 5 which broke the site. I can't access the database with Zen Cart anymore. I tried to use a backup from 1.26 and restore into 1.35 but that didn't work either. I got frustrated and just started to manually enter them again...

Check in your includes/modules/sideboxes folder and count the files should be 26 and categories.php should be one of them and about 1,126bytes

I counted the sideboxes in my admin and there are 26 and you list 17.

I would venture that you upload either missed these or corrupted them.

If they are not all there or possibly corrupt try uploading them again and check in the admin to see if they appear.

If you have facility to create another DB you could look at trying to salvage the 1.2.6 DB.

load and install ZC to another directory, donot erase the zc_install, in phpmyadmin drop this DB, then import the 1.2.6 DB, exit
Re-run the install, and select only the upgrade Data Base. This should get you back all the product items

You rock! That was exactly the problem. Somehow not all the sideboxes got uploaded. Might have been an ftp hicup or something. It didn't even occur to me to look there.
