Default cURL Issues - on my windows server

I've been getting the message: "Fatal error: Call to undefined function: curl_init()" on the curl_init() line of the AuthorizeNet_AIM.php file.

I've got Apache2 with modSSL 2.0.59, php 4.4.4, and the most recent version of ZenCart installed.

    I've uncommented the extension=php_curl.dll line in php.ini.

I've attempted the other connection method code for the authorizenet_aim.php presented elsewhere in the forums.

I'm pretty sure I have all the DLL's in system32.

I can't figure it out. I've followed every instruction I can. This is the only issue I'm having. I've got SSL working everywhere, everything else is perfect. We've already delayed the site a week moving from securepay to authorize.net, and now this.

    Please help.

Suggest to have a basic check.
    1. Run the version check
in the admin => Version (in the upper right hand corner)

If you have the cURL running and in the report you will find a section similar as below.
    curl
    CURL support enabled
    CURL Information libcurl/7.14.0 OpenSSL/0.9.8b zlib/1.2.3
    2. If the above passed, then check your cURL setting,
    in admin => Configuration

there are 2 options as below, please configure the right settings.

cURL Proxy Status False (it should be set to true to enable it)
cURL Proxy Address (it should be set according to your server settings)

No, it isn't showing up in the admin version check.

Should curl be running as a service, or something?

Forgot to mention, I've just installed curl yesterday. The site has been up for a while, and the curl has just been installed. Does this make a difference? Do I need to go through some other config process?

For the change to take effect, have you try to restart the Apache server?

I've restarted Apache and the server itself.

If for the Win, a copy of the php_curl.dll alway put in the related extensions directory.
    e.g.
    \php\extensions\php_curl.dll

And please check your server setting for the correct location for the extensions.

Currently, it is set as extension_dir = ".\"
The php.ini file is located in C:\windows\

So, I need to change this to C:\PHP\extensions\ ?

Alright, I've done so, restarted apache, and still same issue. Could it be a wrong version of curl or something?

Why my company insisted on using a windows box for something linux should be doing is beyond me. I just work here.

Regretably, the box has been sent to the main office for hosting. They're in NJ, I'm in PA. Otherwise, it would be done. They bought a server, that was specifically for a shopping cart based e-commerce site, and the server is slower, and has less RAM and HDD space than my laptop. It was also supposed to be loaded with Red Hat.

But anyway, I didn't mention that I'm on Windows 2003, not XP or 2K. Would this make a difference?
