Help needed to modify prod image based on attributes

Hi,
Just wondering if anyone can help me to write a script or somehow modify the product template so that when a customer selects an attribute, GD Lib updates the product image by overlaying another image.

My site will sell photography and the attributes i want to include are a photo frame. When someone selects the radio button for a timber frame i want (i think via Javascript) the main product image to have a pic of the default timber frame to be overlayed on the main pictures image.

Is this possible. IH2 amost does this with watermarks.

Issues
- Needs to be individual to each user - NOT global
???? and im sure there are more issues.

But surely if lightbox can do what it does we can get Java and GD Lib to do this???

You might put this in the commercial help section. Sounds like a nice little project for javascripters.

Hmm, to have this done on a per attribute basis, you will probably have to create the images with an image editor and assign them as additional pics or attribute images. What you are suggesting may be possible, but would be very difficult (by the way, the image handler watermark actually creates a new image with the watermark, it doesn't just layer one image on top of another.

Can Javascript do this on its own?
Because the product image doesnt actually change, just a Matt is added to the pic and then a frame out side of that, there isnt actually any image manipulation required. Just layering of images. The images to be layers could be added in the attributes image section possibly, but not show in the main product page.
