My Google Analytics is now working. I removed all files from the script and added the script code that Google Analytics generates for my site to the html_header.php file in mytemplate/common. I guess that's what did it.

    Hi,

I found the easiest way of incorporating Google Analytics into my site was to take the Javascript code that Google creates for you and paste it into the following:

    includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/common/tpl_main_page.php

Paste the code at the end of the php script just before the closing BODY TAG </body>

You will now find that you can see the Javascript code at the bottom of every page of your site by looking at the source code in your browser.

Yes, that may be the easiest way, and will give basic results.
However, there are more efficient ways to do it if you want different kinds of tracking on different pages. These approaches are documented in numerous other discussion threads.
