Default PHP Version problem with hosting co - set up SSL wrong

I am getting an error on a new installation at www.wine-lights.com/catalog/admin - The error is : The specified request cannot be executed from current Application Pool
I think it has something to do with my security certificate as the /catalog seems to work fine. My server admin wants to know the version of php I am using. After searchin faq- I could not find the answer. They give me the choice of 4.4.0 and 5.1.2 on the server and I have selected 5.1.2. My new installation of zen 1.3.5 was just downloaded. My only changes have been to delete the .htaccess files because this is a windows server. Any help on the version number or any potential solutions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Zen Cart is not officially certified to run on PHP 5 ... mostly because PHP 5 is ... well ... not complete yet.

That said, there are many folks running Zen Cart on PHP 5 without problems.

You can see version information in Admin->Tools->Server Info

FYI, as an aside, we do not recommend MySQL 5 at this time in conjunction with Zen Cart.

Thank you for your reply. However, I don't think that I made myself clear- The admin where I host my domain is asking ME what version of php I am using. Is zen cart built with a certain version of php?

Then your admin isn't worth their salt.

If your admin is your host, then THEY are the people who INSTALLED PHP on your server.

As for Zen Cart, all Zen Cart is ... is ... PHP scripts. It runs on PHP 4 and to a large extent will run on PHP 5.

A WebServer ... runs Apache .... has PHP installed on it ... which interprets PHP commands.
Zen Cart is simply a collection of PHP commands/scripts.

It's your hosting company that needs to answer your question about PHP ... and if your "admin" person is AT the place where you host your domain ... then ... run away VERY fast...

I did a complete re-install. You probably checked the site with no files yet. I discovered that some windows servers will not tolerate the auto-update option being on. After the re-installation I can't get the log-in screen to come up. I go to www.wine-lights.com/catalog/admin and I get:
The system cannot find the file specified.

Thank you for your reply, but I don't understand what you are saying.
"your ssl is not set correctly. copy your admin/includes/configure.php here WITHOUT passwords."
How do I change my ssl to be correct? When you say "copy your admin/includes/configure.php here" Should I move this file to some other location? And how do I do it without passwords? I'm sorry for my ignorance- I have installed many times before and never ran into this.

we need to look at your configure file to see how the ssl should be entered. Copy the file and post it here in the forum WITHOUT passwords.
