UPS: Unable to get quote

I see this is an older thread with no apparent resolution. I'm having this same problem

"United Parcel Service United Parcel Service
We are unable to obtain a rate quote for UPS shipping.
Please contact the store if no other alternative is shown."

The odd part is that it was working for some time and just quit on me recently.

My shopping cart rate estimator works but when I log in, I get the above message.

Could there be problems communicating through the SSL?

Also, I have a test site where it's working so I know the UPS server is working.

Well if "you" didn't change anything, and UPS didn't change anything, then probably it's something your hosting company did.

Is there any way to make the UPS_xml module work with Zen-Cart 1.3.8?

Yes, the UPS-XML mod works with ZC 1.3.8a. That is, it installs, and once set up with all the various parameters and tweaked a little (in ways that are fully described in the Readme file) it communicates to the UPS server and gets a quote back.

Unfortunately it is not at the moment getting the number of boxes right. I've started another thread with that issue, in hopes that someone knowledgeable can help.
