    HELP!

Have been making changes to includes/languages/ENGLISH/index.php as specified in the Wiki top 10 questions to change "Congratulations! You have successfully installed your Zen Cart™ E-Commerce Solution.
Welcome to Erotic.ie Guest! Would you like to log yourself in?" texts

(well actually includes/languages/english/index.php, does the capataliseation mean I should make folder of my own?)

but nothing is happening....Kinda need to fix this cos have a load of changes to make in these files natch, so anything is appreciated!!

Includes/languages/english/index.php is overridable, so if you have a file named includes/languages/english/your_template/index.php, that will be used instead and includes/languages/english/index.php will be ignored.

All of your customization should be in override files (like includes/languages/english/your_template/index.php). Don't change the core files, copy them to your template and make changes there.

OK tried that, no sign of it working though.

Note: I am using the default classic template in its original files, instead of making a new template, and just customizing that, do I need to configure in admin to use /languages/your_template/ ???

(I.E. how does cart "know" to use files from custom folder?)

Glad to see you got your issues resolved, but I have to make one comment:
You need to use a custom (or "your_template" as we say) directory structure or else all your customizations will be wiped out the first time you upgrade to a new version of Zen Cart. See the FAQs and wiki articles on templates for discussion of why and how.

Since you have done all your customization in the "Classic" template, the easiest way would be to rename all /classic/ folders to a name you pick, and then edit template_info.php to reflect the new name. (You will then probably need to activate your template and reset the sideboxes in Admin.) In the next upgrade, new copies of the most recent /classic/ folders & their files will be inserted and you will be good as new.

I'd just like to say a big thank you to all o ye folks that helped me with my questions, silly as some of them are. Being new to zen-cart and fairly new to CSS, and having a harsh deadline has meant a very steep learning curve was necessary, and ye all helped me up it admirably.

    Thanks

    Hello
I have a similar problem. I want to change the footer top, side box headings, header navigation and the side box footer from the green to another colour.
I've managed to change the colours of everything else but not these as I can't find the parts you need to change on the ccs sheet. I followed your suggestion to change the side box footer but it didn't work. Thanks

Two questions. 1 - I made the second directory in order to put a customized template in and also have a ftp that I've been using via FireFox that I've been rather happy with. However I came across an issue today with it that is really starting to make me wonder. The FF extension doesn't allow the copy files, only moves them. I'm looking for something better in that aspect. My option there was to do it through cpanel and that was something that I really didn't want to. Which brings me to my question, what's a good FTP freeware for doing something of the nature?

Question 2 - This is a major one when doing the pricing of the products. When I've clicked on the photo and seen the description, at the title there is the word, "English" in front. I have been unable to find where it's coming from and where to turn it off. The products that are being sold are unique designed by my client and it is a large issue. Could someone help me and explain how to fix?

Thanks so much for anyone who can assist.

    Regards,

    TW
