client wants to offer "financing." Up to now, they have been parceling out the whole item into separate shipments. You may have seen this in an earlier post.
Per the recommendations received from that previous post, we've created item options. The item itself is "free" but the options (which are required) include down payment, and modular payments (there are only two or three "modules"). The down payment gets them a bunch of stuff. the first module gives them more, next module gets a little more, etc.
Now the problem arises that a client will make the initial purchase with every intention of getting the whole thing -- maybe it was an impulse buy, maybe they forgot to come back and get the rest, maybe they got busy with other stuff, pick a reason.
To fix this, we've only been able to come up with two ideas:
1. add a "license agreement" style thing they have to click "agree" before purchasing the initial package. This seems like a good idea, but how to do it? and will it really help impulse and forgetful people get it done? doubtful.
2. setup a recurring payment for once a month or so until it's paid off. Paypal has this kind of option now -- it's call subscriptions and recurring payments. This seems the more plausible approach to the problem. We're using authorize.net now (not paypal). So, is this going to be an authorize.net solution, or a zencart solution? Is it possible under the current configuration?
Other ideas from you, the e-commerce zenners would be oh, so welcome.
Thanks again for all the help!
